The Franco-Ténois flag was adopted in 1992.

The flag is mainly blue and white, the colours of the Franco-Ténois flag represent snow and Francophone. The curve on which hte bear is sitting represents the geogrpahical proximity of the Northwest Territories with the North Pole. The bear represents freedom and nature, characteristic of the Great North. The bear looks at the logo of a snow crystal and fleur-de-lis. The symbol illustrates the participation and dynamic contribution of the francophones to the progress of the Northwest Territories.
